Senior Graphic Designer
Job Summary:
About the Role and Team:
Be Part of the Story as the Senior Graphic Designer! This hands on role is responsible for Graphic Design & Branding development from concepts to final artwork at all levels of complexity.
Disney Parks, Experiences and Product is the business segment of The Walt Disney Company that brings stories to life through global product assortments and services featuring characters from Walt Disney Animation Studios, Pixar, Marvel, Lucasfilm, Media Networks, and the Walt Disney Studios. This includes a broad assortment of merchandise ranging from toys, apparel, accessories, home décor, electronics, consumables, health & beauty and collectible art.
The Global Merchandise Creative team develops the global creative direction and assets for all of Disney Consumer Products core properties. Following the Brand Strategy, we develop the brand identity that appears at retail, designs and establishes the look and feel of each property, and works in partnership with lines of business and product development teams.
This is a Full Time Role.
What You Will Do:
- Development of Graphic Design & Branding for style guides and portfolios across multiple properties across Vertical and Licensing businesses.
- Leads 1-2 Graphic designers
- Work closely with Artists to create elevated relevant art that encompasses trend, consumer insights, Studio initiatives and Franchise priorities
- Art style/new technique development to co-ordinate with fashion trends in the marketplace
- Attendance at key shows/exhibitions to keep up to date on trends and product development techniques
- Contribute new product ideas and participate in brainstorming sessions
- Ensures excellence by maintaining integrity and leading artistic and creative direction locally and globally
- Understands Graphic Design & Branding and how it translates to products
- Fresh and inventive creative problem solver
- Able to present creative concepts on both formal and informal settings
- Strong team player
- Exhibits ingenuity, creativity, and resourcefulness
Required Qualifications and Skills:
- 6+ years of related work experience in graphic design, character art or merchandise design
- Extensive knowledge of Graphic Design & Branding
- Excellent creative computer skills (Illustrator, Photoshop, MS Office)
- Able to clearly communicate, present, and sell creative ideas both in formal and informal settings.
- Strong traditional and digital drawing skills, and concepting skills
- Strong Illustration skills with ability to create and stylize characters
- Strong knowledge and understanding of fashion and merchandise design
- Hand lettering/custom typography
- Strong interpersonal and people management skills
- Strong negotiation skills and influencing abilities
- Highly motivated, resourceful and proactive
- Experience leading a small team and inspiring others
- Thinks strategically
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience using InDesign, Creative Suite, Keynote
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Art, Illustration and/or Graphic Design
