Custom Commercial Signs Designed & Installed in Florida
When your business needs signage that does not come from a catalog, Highmark manages the complete custom sign process from initial concept through permitting and professional installation. We coordinate the design, source the right fabricator, pull the permits, and install it right.
Your Sign, Your Brand, Professionally Installed
Sometimes a standard sign package does not fit the situation. Your building is an unusual shape. Your brand requires specific materials or finishes. The property owner has architectural guidelines that demand something beyond a standard channel letter set. Or you simply want signage that stands out from every other business on the street. That is where custom sign work comes in.
We want to be upfront about our role in the custom sign process. Highmark is a sign installation company, not a sign manufacturer. We do not operate a fabrication shop. What we do is coordinate with a network of trusted fabrication partners to design and source custom signage that meets your specifications, and then we handle everything from permitting through professional installation. This approach actually works in your favor. Because we are not tied to a single manufacturing facility, we can match the best fabricator to your specific project. Channel letter specialists for intricate channel letter work. Monument sign fabricators who work in the stone or metal materials you need. LED display manufacturers who build commercial-grade electronic signage. We pick the right builder for the job, not just the one who happens to be down the hall.
Throughout the process, you deal with one company and one project manager. We coordinate design review, engineering, permitting with your local Florida municipality, fabrication timelines, delivery logistics, and installation scheduling. You are not managing a fabricator in one conversation, a permit runner in another, and an installation crew in a third.
Custom Sign Types We Handle

Monument Signs
Freestanding monument signs designed to match your building architecture and property aesthetics. Natural stone, manufactured stone, brick, aluminum, stainless steel, and composite materials with illuminated or non-illuminated lettering.
Dimensional Letters and Logos
Three-dimensional letters and logos for building facades, interior lobbies, and reception areas. Metal, acrylic, PVC, and wood materials in any size, finish, and mounting style.

Programmable LED message centers, full-color LED displays, and digital signage for commercial properties, churches, schools, and entertainment venues. Includes structural mounting, electrical connection, and content management setup.
Pylon and Pole Signs
Custom freestanding signs engineered for your specific site conditions, height requirements, and brand specifications. Single-tenant and multi-tenant configurations.
Architectural and Specialty Signs
Blade signs, projecting signs, awning signs, hanging signs, and specialty architectural signage designed to complement building design and meet historic district or architectural review requirements.
For projects in municipalities with strict architectural review requirements, such as historic districts in St. Augustine, Coral Gables, or Winter Park, we coordinate the design to meet both your brand goals and the local design standards. Getting that balance right before fabrication begins saves time, money, and permit headaches.
How the Custom Sign Process Works
Step 1: Initial Consultation
We meet at your location to discuss your vision, review your brand guidelines, assess the building and site conditions, and understand any property owner or municipal requirements that will affect the sign design.
Step 2: Design Development
We work with our fabrication partners to develop design concepts that meet your specifications. You review renderings showing the sign on your actual building or property so you can see exactly what it will look like before anything is built.
Step 3: Engineering and Permitting
Once the design is approved, we handle structural engineering where required and submit the sign permit application to your local Florida municipality. We manage the entire approval process including any architectural review board submissions.
Step 4: Fabrication Coordination
We coordinate the fabrication process with the selected manufacturing partner, including timeline management, quality review, and delivery logistics. We stay on top of the schedule so your sign arrives when expected.
Step 5: Professional Installation
Our crews install the finished sign using our own equipment fleet. Electrical connection, illumination testing, and final alignment are all part of the installation.
Step 6: Inspection and Documentation
We verify the installed sign matches the approved permit drawings and your design specifications. Photo documentation, permit close-out, and warranty information are delivered upon completion.
