ADA Office Signs
ADA signage is more than a legal checkbox, it keeps your facility accessible and reduces liability. Highmark fabricates ADA-compliant office signage in coastal-grade materials built to withstand Florida’s humidity and salt air.
Beyond Basic Compliance
ADA signage protects people and reduces liability at the same time, done right, it’s also an extension of your brand, not an afterthought bolted on at the last minute.
Highmark builds custom ADA office signage in acrylic, brushed aluminum, brass and architectural photopolymer, finishes that hold up to Florida’s coastal environment while still matching your interior brand identity.
ADA Signage Requirements
Mounting Height
Tactile characters must sit between 48 and 60 inches from the floor, mounted on the latch side of the door.
Clear Floor Space
An 18×18 inch clear floor space centered on the sign, with a maximum 4-inch protrusion into circulation paths.
Grade 2 Braille
Rounded dome dots positioned directly below the tactile text, raised a minimum of 1/32 inch.
Tactile Characters
Uppercase, sans-serif characters sized 5/8 to 2 inches depending on viewing distance.
Contrast & Finish
High contrast between text and background, with a non-glare, matte finish for low-vision readability.
Coastal-Grade Materials
Moisture- and corrosion-resistant substrates built for Florida’s humidity and salt air.
Where ADA Signs Are Required
Only rooms designated as permanent spaces require ADA signage, restrooms, kitchens, mechanical rooms, elevator lobbies, exits, stairwells and numbered offices. Cubicles and temporary setups typically don’t require tactile signage.
ADA Door & Room Signage
Door signs identify individual rooms and offices; room and area signage covers wayfinding through high-traffic zones like corridors, elevator lobbies and stairwells. Both need to meet the same mounting, contrast and Braille standards to be compliant. See our custom door signs and custom Braille sign pages for related options.
