Front-Lit Channel Letter Signs
Individually fabricated, illuminated letters remain the standard for storefront branding, visible and legible day or night. Highmark manufactures channel letters in our own Florida shop and installs them with our own crews, in front-lit, back-lit and halo-lit configurations.
What a Front-Lit Channel Letter Sign Is
A channel letter is a three-dimensional, individually built letter or logo, not a printed panel. Each letter has a translucent acrylic face, an aluminum return (the side wall that gives it depth), a back plate, a trim cap that joins face to return, and an internal LED module that lights the face.
On a front-lit letter, light projects forward through the acrylic face only, which keeps the letter crisp and highly legible against the storefront from a distance, the configuration most commercial tenants choose for maximum readability.
Configurations We Manufacture
Front-Lit
Light projects through the face only, the highest-legibility, most common configuration for retail and commercial storefronts.
Back-Lit / Halo-Lit
Light directs backward against the wall behind the letter, producing a halo glow rather than a lit face.
Front-and-Back-Lit
Combines a lit face with a halo effect for a more dimensional look, often chosen for upscale storefronts.
Mounting Options
Raceway-mounted or direct flush-mounted to the building, depending on wall condition and electrical access.
Built for Florida Sun, Wind and Salt Air
Exterior channel letters take a beating from UV exposure, humidity and coastal salt air. Highmark uses UV-resistant acrylic faces and aluminum returns, and engineers mounting systems to Miami-Dade and Broward County wind-load standards so the letters stay put and stay legible.
